Low-Impact Fitness

Health Zone at Saint Francis, our state-of-the-art, medically based fitness facility, offers low-impact fitness classes designed to put little or no harmful stress on the body. Led by expert instructors, these exercises are great for seniors or anyone needing to ease into a new fitness routine.

Join Us For a Rejuvenating Session

Facets of Fitness (Moderate): This class incorporates an aerobic workout with flexibility, balance training, strength and coordination exercises. This 65-minute class is appropriate for older adults.

Flex and Back Care (Moderate): Use resistance equipment for a complete strength training workout. A combination of dynamic and static stretching are used to help strengthen the lower back and increase flexibility.

Foam Roller (Moderate): A cylindrical foam roller is used by applying body weight pressure to compress different muscle groups throughout the body. It is also used as a tool for abdominal/back exercises.

Joint Efforts (Gentle): Designed for people with arthritis, the gentle exercises performed in this class increase joint flexibility, range of motion and maintain muscle strength. Participants must be able to get in and out of a chair independently. This class incorporates relaxation and health education.

Zone Beat (Strong): Zone Beat is a high-energy workout that combines cardio muscle conditioning, balance and flexibility with all of the fun of drumming and zero intimidation factor.

Please note:

  • All classes are coed
  • Class schedule subject to change
  • A limited number of yoga mats are available for member use. Please bring your own mat to class if you have one.

Beginners to advanced participants are welcome. We recommend you drink plenty of water in the hours leading up to, during and after any fitness class. Please arrive a few minutes early to find a spot and set up props being used in the class. Dress comfortably and wear athletic shoes.
