Thank you for your interest in joining the Saint Francis Student Volunteer Summer Program. Student volunteers play a vital role in our vibrant summer program open to students ages 15-18 years old.
Student Volunteer Positions
Student volunteers are trained in most of the same areas as adult volunteers. Serving in both clerical (office) and clinical (patient) areas, student volunteers will help in a variety of roles with different tasks and duties.
Date: June 9 - August 11
Application Deadline: May 9
Student Volunteer Requirements
Your job as a student volunteer has many responsibilities. You are subject to a code of ethics, policies, procedures, and dress codes similar to that which governs the professionals at Saint Francis Hospital. A minimum commitment of 4 hours a week AND and a total of 7 weeks service for the summer is required to participate. Give careful consideration to your day and time preference on the application. Schedule changes are difficult to make after orientation. The earlier your application is received, the greater the possibility of being scheduled for your preferred choices. Our student program fills up fast and often has a waiting list. Please be certain you can fulfill this commitment before applying. The hospital enjoys and depends on our wonderful student volunteers!
Student Volunteer Dress Code
The dress code requires that each student volunteer wear the official uniform. Your appearance reflects your pride in yourself and in the program. Both young men and young women must wear the student volunteer polo shirt, tucked in, with black slacks or scrub pants. Leggings, jeans or Capri pants are not permitted. Shoes must be closed toed, soft soled shoes that are white, brown or black in color.
