Comprehensive Emergency Care
Saint Francis Hospital's emergency center, known as the Trauma Emergency Center (TEC) has a long-standing legacy of providing comprehensive emergency care to those facing complex, life-threatening emergencies. Highlights of the facility include:
- a Level II Trauma Center designation by the Oklahoma State Department of Health
- a DNV Certified Comprehensive Stroke Center
- the Saint Francis Trauma Institute Clinic
The highly-trained emergency team adheres to the highest standards of emergency medicine. Services include 24/7 trauma surgeon coverage, acute stroke care—including endovascular stroke services and a stroke response team, and many in-house sub-specialties.
Emergency Center Highlights
As part of the largest facility expansion in Saint Francis history (completed in September 2014) the 24/7 emergency department features:
- The ability to accommodate more than 120,000 patient visits annually (average of over 300 per day)
- Convertible area for mass casualty response within ambulance bay
- Ability to expand clinical stations during disaster events
- Dedicated oversized trauma elevators
- Large covered ambulance bay to accommodate up to 14 ambulances at once
- Two (2) helipads on the roof
- Pediatric Emergency Center, for patients under the age of 18, with separate entrance and exam rooms
Emergency Centers at Saint Francis Hospital
Located on the southwest side of Saint Francis Hospital at 61st and South Yale, the Saint Francis Trauma Emergency Center is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
