Nutritional Counseling

Nutritional Counseling

Warren Clinic Adult Diabetes Education provides interactive group classes and one-on-one consultations to help manage diabetes. Diabetes management is more than a diet. We work with individuals to help develop a unique, flexible health plan that provides the tools to live a healthy and successful life.

Group Classes Focusing on Nutrition

Group classes are designed for adults who are newly diagnosed, have never received education or need a refresher course. Classes are taught by nurses and dietitians who specialize in diabetes education. Topics discussed include:

  • Meal planning and eating out;
  • physical activity and exercise; and
  • weight management.

One-on-One Nutritional Consults

One-on-one consultations are available for adults with specific diabetes and nutritional needs. These needs can include fine-tuning self-care skills, reviewing resources, starting insulin, managing diabetes complications and kidney disease as well as developing strategies for Polycystic Ovarian Syndrome (PCOS).

Scheduling an Appointment

Clients must have a referral from their physician to use the services provided by Warren Clinic Adult Diabetes Education. All insurance companies handle these services differently. Be sure to call your insurance company to see how they cover diabetes self-management training, medical nutritional therapy and diabetes supplies.
