  • Immediate and Seamless Care: Rehabilitation that begins soon after an injury or illness has shown to prevent complications and shorten your hospital stay. At Saint Francis, therapy begins in your recovery room, and continues seamlessly in our inpatient rehabilitation units, located within the hospital.
  • Therapy for the Whole You: Services are provided by a caring team of specialists to address all your needs—medical, physical, spiritual, psychological and social. Leveraging an intensive level of physical, occupational, speech and recreational therapy, our team will provide a personalized medical care program.
  • Team Approach: Led by a physiatrist, your dedicated care team—which may include physical and occupational therapists, clinical dietitians, psychologists, pharmacists and more—works together to create an individualized plan of care. The team meets regularly to review your progress and adjust the plan to meet your changing needs.
  • Specialized Nurses: To help speed healing and provide optimal care, you’ll have 24/7 access to specially trained rehabilitation nurses. Many have received advanced certification to help care for chronic conditions that require an extended stay.
  • Home-like Environment: Our units feature all-private rooms and comfortable amenities, while offering simulated settings to practice daily tasks that ensure a safe and confident return home.
  • Focused Care Around You: A typical day will include dressing and grooming training, three hours of therapy, meals provided in a common dining area and 24-hour rehabilitation focused nursing care. Each patient receives an individualized plan of care from their care team and can show off their achievements at "graduation day" before being discharged.
  • Education Every Step of the Way: In addition to your daily therapy activities, education is a vital part of your plan of care. We’re here to give you the information and tools you need to understand your condition or injury, relearn various life skills and help prevent a recurrence.

Requirements for Admission

Referrals can be made by physicians or by an individual. A rehabilitation clinician will complete a screening evaluation to determine the appropriate level of care.

Potential patients must be able to:

  • Tolerate at least three hours of therapy a day
  • Make significant improvement within a reasonable time frame
  • Be medically stable

Saint Francis inpatient rehabilitation locations are Medicare-approved facilities and welcome many different insurance plans. An admissions coordinator will work with patients to verify benefits and obtain authorizations as needed.

Referrals from Healthcare Professionals

Referring facilities may send an efax to 918-502-7573. The efax number is the same for inpatient rehabilitation in Tulsa and Muskogee.

Inpatient Rehab Visitation

Family is an integral part of the rehab process and immediate family/caregivers are encouraged to participate in a patient's daily care and therapy. Each room is equipped with in-room sleeping accommodations for one caregiver to stay overnight should they choose.

General visitation is open. However, patients are often in therapy during the day. Late afternoon or evening and Sunday visits are best. When in doubt, please contact the patient to ensure they will be available.

In Tulsa, you can call the inpatient rehab nurse's station at 918-494-4250 with any questions you may have.
