Oklahoma Cystic Fibrosis Center Tulsa

In spring 2023, The Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation approved an upgrade for Saint Francis Children's Hospital. The affiliate program at the hospital became an Oklahoma CF care center, one of just two in the state. That means it has an approved pediatric program that provides experience in the current therapies for CF and follows the guidelines established by the CF Foundation. CF care centers are inspected and re-accredited regularly by the CF Foundation to ensure standards of care. The foundation says quarterly visits to a care center can improve the health and extend the life of patients with CF.

The Only CF Care Center in Eastern Oklahoma

Cystic Fibrosis (CF) typically affects all the systems of a child's body with the exception of the cardiovascular and CNS organ systems. The CF care center at Saint Francis Children's Physicians pediatric pulmonology has been treating patients with CF since 2011.

Our pediatric pulmonologists care for nearly 100 CF patients in addition to general pulmonary patients. The center provides treatments for patients with a multidisciplinary team specially trained in CF care. In addition to pediatric pulmonologists, CF patients are seen regularly by the children's hospital's clinical pharmacist, registered dietitian, respiratory therapist and social worker. The whole team works diligently to care for the whole patient and their families in managing daily CF treatments, exacerbations and overall mental well-being.

Cystic Fibrosis Clinic

The Cystic Fibrosis Clinic is two Thursdays per month at the Saint Francis Children's Physicians pediatric pulmonology office. It provides integrated, multidisciplinary care for children with CF. During clinic hours, families have the opportunity to talk with their child's pulmonologist, a pharmacist, a social worker and a dietitian all in the same day at the same location.
