Saint Francis Hospital South has been named one of the nation’s 100 Top Hospitals® by Premier, Inc., a leading healthcare improvement and technology company. This national recognition places Saint Francis Hospital South among an elite group of hospitals demonstrating top-tier performance in clinical outcomes, operational efficiency, financial health and patient satisfaction.

This marks the sixth time Saint Francis Hospital South has earned this distinction, reflecting a consistent commitment to high-quality, patient-centered care.

Unlike many awards, Premier’s 100 Top Hospitals® designation is based entirely on objective, publicly available data and requires no application or fee—making this a truly independent measure of excellence.

“This recognition speaks to the commitment our teams have made to deliver safe, high-quality care to the people of Tulsa and the surrounding communities,” said Todd Schuster, Senior Vice President and President of Saint Francis Hospital South. “It’s a reflection of our clinicians, nurses and support staff who show up every day ready to care with excellence, empathy and purpose. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve accomplished together.”

Premier’s 100 Top Hospitals® program evaluated 2,599 short-term, acute care hospitals across the country. This year’s winners outperformed their peers in several key areas, including:

  • 39% fewer inpatient deaths
  • 26.5% fewer patients with complications
  • 32% fewer healthcare-associated infections (HAIs)
  • 18% lower inpatient expense per discharge
  • A shorter average length of stay by 0.4 days
  • Better overall patient experience scores (73% vs. 68% for peers)

According to Premier’s analysis, if all hospitals operated at the level of this year’s top performers, the national impact could include over 331,000 additional lives saved, 611,000 fewer complications and more than $15.1 billion in inpatient cost savings annually.

The Premier 100 Top Hospitals® recognition comes amid continued investment and growth at Saint Francis Hospital South, including a $350 million expansion project that broadens service lines and increases access to specialists—all in an effort to continue Saint Francis Health System’s legacy of high-quality care close to home.
