Pediatric Primary Care

Saint Francis pediatricians and family medicine specialists provide general and preventive medical care for babies, kids and adolescents, including check-ups and immunizations. They also diagnose and treat common childhood illnesses. Common reasons to see a pediatrician or family doctor include:

  • Well-child exams and routine screening
  • Immunizations
  • School and sports physicals
  • Care for childhood illnesses
  • Developmental screenings
  • Lactation support
  • Ongoing care for long-term and chronic illnesses such as asthma, ADHD, eczema, and feeding and weight problems
  • Referrals to specialists and outside agencies to assist with care when appropriate

Care for the Whole Child

Our team of pediatric doctors is here to help your child stay healthy — physically, mentally and socially. Well-child exams are an important part of your child's growth. These routine exams are essential to identifying potential growth and development concerns in the early stages.

Wellness exams for children also create a space for the pediatric provider to answer questions and offer on-going support for the caregiver and/or child. Most insurance plans cover the cost of well-child exams for adolescents and children.

Pediatric or Family Medicine Clinic: What's the Difference?

Both family medicine doctors and pediatricians provide primary care to kids. Both care for patients under the age of 18 and offer general health and wellness care. They also serve as "home base" for any care above and beyond routine healthcare.

  • Pediatricians: Trained to care for the general health and wellness of kids from birth to 18 years of age.
  • Family Medicine Physicians: Trained to care for the general health and wellness of kids, adolescents and adults alike.
