Diabetes Management

If you have diabetes, your role in managing your own health is vitally important. Perhaps nowhere else is this role more important than in the presence of diabetes.

From diagnosis to daily management of your diabetes, our specialized staff of endocrinologists, nurses, diabetes educators, dietitians and medical assistants provides you with the medical care, guidance and support to help you adjust to living with diabetes.

Your partnership with the members of your healthcare team – doctor, diabetes educator, exercise specialists and psychologists or social worker – will result in a management plan that is most effective for you. The choices you make and the daily attention you provide will directly affect the success of your treatment.

Remember, you manage the disease, it doesn’t manage you. Medication, self-monitoring of blood glucose, diet, stress management and exercise are important factors in the treatment of diabetes. By staying with the plan that you and your healthcare team develop, you can reduce the impact of diabetes on your life and reduce your chances of developing any of the long-term problems associated with diabetes.

The Warren Clinic Diabetes Center offers access to diabetes management services on an outpatient basis. When in-hospital care is required, the physicians of the Diabetes Center monitor patient needs closely and call on specialists when required.
